CBD for Anxiety Disorders Using CBD Oil

Patients with an anxiety disorder are advised to avoid cannabis and marijuana, as THC can increase anxiety, panic or nervousness in some people. However, a new study proposes that cannabidiol, or CBD, is a potential treatment for anxiety disorders. The part of marijuana that may cause anxiety or panic in some people is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or more commonly referred to as THC. CBD oil is nonpsychotropic, meaning it won't cause the user to feel "stoned" or intoxicated. THC binds to cannabinoid receptors in the body while CBD doesn't work the same, mind-altering way. Some researchers point to studies that show that existing preclinical evidence strongly supports CBD as a treatment for:

Generalized anxiety disorder

Obsessive-compulsive disorder

Panic disorder

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Social anxiety disorder
